Second Shooter is an independent publication about the craft of photographing weddings. It is not a studio, it does not take bookings, and it is not affiliated with any photographer or venue.

Most writing about wedding photography is either gear reviews or portfolios. Neither tells you what the job is actually like: the hour of formals in a car park, the reception room lit like a service station, the twenty minutes of copying cards at midnight.

So the bias here is practical. What to do when the officiant says you cannot move, how to run a group list without losing an hour, and which two clauses in a contract are the ones that matter.
